I was just so excited about how Lynn (the woman I take care of) ate a banana like we do. After the lunch, I wanted something to nibble on. I got an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie from a cookie jar and decided to go check on Lynn as I was about to eat the cookie.
As I entered into her bedroom, she was awake and saw me coming in which had not happened until a few weeks ago like this constantly... Anyway, she saw the cookie in my hand and I felt she wanted some...so I decided to let her eat the whole cookie from my hand without breaking into pieces.
Blessing! She ate the cookie like the way it was! I got so excited that I even brought her a piece of bread with peanut butter on it and gave her from my hand as well. As you may imagine, she ate it the way it was. It took longer for her to eat this way because it requires her to open her mouth voluntary instead of pushed the food into her mouth by a spoon...but, I am happier that she eats from my hand. That's progress. I love it!!!
